Summary

This position requires office presence of 95% or more of working hours. There will be occasional site work required in the interest of project/sales meetings, training and other work as directed by the Documentation Supervisor. The position will focus on providing support to the PLC and cGxP Controls Engineering Department and will assist in creating and maintaining documentation for PLC and cGxP projects. The position is expected to ensure financial constraints are adhered to as defined in project parameters.

Responsibilities

  • Use and understand financial reports to ensure financial goals/responsibility designated by PLC and cGxP Controls Engineering Manager are met.

  • Understand project requirements to meet customer needs and financial goals of all projects.

  • Use new technology and develop new ideas as a means to meet customer needs and to refine and streamline document production.

  • Ensure that GAMP/cGxP procedures and testing implementation are being adhered to.

  • Understand departmental personnel retention issues and utilize systems developed by Controls Engineering Manager to keep personnel turnover to a minimum.

  • Participate in training new hires and direct reports, as required.

  • Schedule direct reports to work on assignments and verify quality goals are met, as required.

  • Utilize growth systems for direct reports to ensure professional development and training efforts are being met.

  • Understand departmental position training programs for direct reports.

  • Ensure that departmental SOP is adhered to.

  • Verify quality of work to ensure quality goals are met.

  • Understand corporate employee reviews.

  • Ensure that Company Safety Policies are adhered to, as required.

  • Attend project start and completion meetings as required to discuss:

    • Project scope

    • Timelines

    • Lessons Learned

  • Attend weekly/monthly meetings as required to discuss:

    • Project status

    • Department status

  • Review/design FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) documents, as required.

  • Review/design SAT (Site Acceptance Test) documents, as required.

  • Review/design FDS (Functional Design Specifications) documents, as required.

  • Review/gather device cut sheets, as required.

  • Review/design Instrument Index Lists, as required.

  • Review/design I/O Lists, as required.

  • Review/design power supply loading documents, as required.

  • Review/design enclosure heat load calculations, as required.

  • Ensure that documentation is completed on time, under or at budget, and with 100% customer satisfaction.

  • Assist in commissioning/testing activities.

  • Maintain an ongoing working knowledge of cGxP and cGAMP testing procedures.

  • Ensure that all project components are purchased and received.

  • Maintain all PLC and cGxP Engineering project folders.

  • Provide support to the cGxP and PLC Controls Department as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and P&ID’s.

  • Ability to read financial reports.

  • Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Understanding of data center and facility infrastructure desirable.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a heavily regulated cGxP environment is desirable.

  • Must be a highly motivated individual, possessing time management skills, and the ability to multitask.

  • Must be organized, efficient, and display strong attention to detail.

  • Must have analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills.

  • Must provide timely responses to questions posed by team members or customers.

  • Must be accessible by phone when problems arise or have an acceptable alternative when in environment that phone access is not available.

  • Can work independently without supervision and is also capable of working within a team environment.

Physical Requirements

Physical demands are light to moderate, consisting of sitting, using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reaching, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling and crouching; occasional heavy lifting up to 25 pounds and climbing ladders; occasionally exposed to electric hazards.
